About
Adult Faith Formation encompasses programs designed for adult learning of all ages, such as workshops and instruction on various topics, evenings or days of reflection, small sharing groups, Scripture study groups and retreat opportunities. Its focus includes family activities such as family meals at the parish, family prayer experiences, pilgrimages and family outings. For those adults who are coming into the faith, the R.C.I.A. (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) program is available. The "Landings" program is offered for those who have been away from the church or the sacraments for any length of time and are considering a return. (See further information on these two programs in this directory.)

Just a heads up...the SPN AFF Book Club will reconvene beginning January 14th at 7:00 PM in the school hall. The group has selected Dangerous Memories: A Mosaic of Mary in Scripture by Elizabeth A. Johnson. The book gives an extensive treatment of each biblical passage that speaks of Mary in the Gospels. Elizabeth Johnson, in addition to being a religious sister in the Congregation of St. Joseph, Brentwood, NY, is a distinguished Professor of Theology at Fordham University and an accomplished author and speaker. Her public service in the church includes being a theologian on the national Lutheran-Catholic Dialogue; a consultant to the Catholic Bishops’ Committee on Women in Church and Society; a theologian on the Vatican-sponsored dialogue between science and religion, and on the Vatican-sponsored study of Christ and the world religions; also a core committee member of the Common Ground Initiative started by Cardinal Joseph Bernardin to reconcile polarized groups in the church. I guarantee you will see Mary as you have never seen her before! Please contact Linda Banecker (610-828-0344) or (LindaBaneckerAFF@aol.com).
